Scientific research is the cornerstone for developing and advancing Islamic economics, which today faces complex challenges in terms of technological changes, modern financing instruments, and market transformations. Islamic economics, with its inherent value system, is capable of providing fair and sustainable models when supported by original and in-depth research.

Participation Requirements

  • The research must be original and not previously published in any medium (electronic or print) nor submitted for publication.
  • Adherence to the scientific method in accordance with recognized academic standards, including proper source documentation and methodology.
  • The research must fall within the award's specified fields.
  • A previous award winner may only participate again two years after their win.
  • Upon submission, the researcher must upload the required data and documents to the award platform.
  • The research must be written in either Arabic or English.
  • It should address a topic with a clear practical or developmental impact.
  • Research that violates the award's terms and criteria will be disqualified.

Writing Guidelines

Adherence to objective and ethical values of scientific research, including:

  • The research must be characterized by originality and soundness in scientific and intellectual direction.
  • Avoiding personal or institutional criticism/defamation during scientific critique.
  • Addressing contemporary issues closest to the needs of human reality through a theoretical and applied approach.
  • Adherence to objectivity and impartiality, free from personal inclinations and biases.

High-quality scientific drafting, taking into account the following:

  • Linguistic integrity, free from grammatical and spelling errors.
  • Observance of punctuation and spelling rules.
  • Accuracy in citation, documentation, and referencing texts and evidence.

Research Size and Formatting:

The research must not exceed (9,000) words, including the body text, references, and appendices.

Font size and type:
  • For research written in Arabic: Font size is (16), footnotes are (12), and the font type is (Traditional Arabic).
  • For research written in English: Font size is (14), footnotes are (10), and the font type is (Times New Roman).

Research Abstract:

The research must be accompanied by an abstract in both Arabic and English, not exceeding (300) words each. The abstract must include: the research topic, objectives, methodology, main findings, and recommendations, in addition to keywords.

Research Structure and Organization:

The research is structured and organized in accordance with scientific research methodology requirements, to maintain consistency with the research and reports published in the journal, as follows:

  • Introduction: including the research topic, importance, problem statement, scope, objectives, methodology, and literature review.
  • Body text: divided into consistent and interconnected sections and subheadings.
  • Focusing on presenting a specific idea in each section to avoid excessively long paragraphs and subheadings.
  • Conclusion: a comprehensive summary including the main findings and recommendations.
  • List of sources, references, and appendices.

Documentation Methodology (MLA):

The MLA style is followed for documentation as follows:

  • First citation in footnotes: (Author's last name, first name, book title, place of publication, publisher, edition number, date of publication, volume and page).
  • Subsequent consecutive citations: (Ibid., volume and page). Citations in other non-consecutive locations: (Author's last name, book title, volume and page).
  • If the reference lacks some publication information, standard abbreviations are used as follows:
    • No place of publication: (n.p.), No publisher: (n.p.).
    • No edition: (n.ed.), No date of publication: (n.d.).
  • Quranic verses must be diacritically marked, written in Uthmanic script, and placed in flowery brackets ﴿ ﴾. They must not be copied from electronic software, and the surah name and verse number must be indicated in brackets afterwards.
  • For Hadith citations, after mentioning the reference, the book name, chapter name, and Hadith number must be added.
  • For website citations, the access date must be mentioned along with the full, unshortened URL.
  • Footnotes are placed at the bottom of each page with continuous numbering from the beginning of the research to the end.
  • Charts, data, tables, and similar elements must adhere to the following:
    • Charts and illustrations are inserted in the body text in black and white, numbered sequentially, with titles and notes written underneath.
    • Tables are inserted in the body text, numbered sequentially, with titles written above and notes written underneath.
    • Sources and references are listed at the end of the research in alphabetical order, separating Arabic references from other languages.
