General Terms for Nomination

1. Eligibility

   • All researchers, academics, authors, and innovators in the field of Islamic economics from around the world are eligible to apply for the award.
   • Winners from the previous edition may not reapply in the same category until two years have elapsed since their win.
   • Applications may be submitted individually or jointly, provided that the number of participants on a single work does not exceed five persons.
   • Members of the judging panel or those working in the award administration are not eligible to apply.

2. Requirements for Accepted Works

   • For Scientific Research: The research must be original and not previously published in any electronic or paper medium, and not submitted to another party for publication.
   • For Books: The book must not have been published more than five years ago, and must be no less than 30,000 words.
   • For Innovations: The innovative product must be new and must not have been previously applied or presented.
   • The work must be written in Arabic or English in a clear and understandable manner.
   • The work must align with one of the research areas specified for the award.
   • Full commitment to the scientific method and recognized academic principles in research and documentation.
   • The work is free from any violation of intellectual property rights or plagiarism.

3. Application Procedures

   • Submission is made electronically only through the official award platform on the website.
   • All required documents must be submitted in full, in high-quality PDF and Word formats.
   • Submit the complete CV of the applicant or applicants (in the case of joint work).
   • Provide an executive summary of the work of no more than 1000 words that explains the main idea and scientific addition.
   • Upload a complete copy of the nominated work in a readable electronic format.
   • Adherence to the officially announced application deadline, and any late applications will not be accepted.
   • The applicant will receive a confirmation email after successfully completing the application process.

4. Judging and Evaluation Process

   • All submitted works undergo a preliminary review to verify compliance with the basic requirements.
   • Works are screened through internationally accredited plagiarism detection software.
   • Works that meet the requirements are referred to a specialized judging committee of experts in Islamic economics and law.
   • Judging is conducted using a double-blind peer-review approach to ensure impartiality and objectivity.
   • Evaluation is carried out according to specific criteria including: originality, innovation, scientific methodology, practical value, and Sharia compliance.
   • The decisions of the judging committee are final and are not subject to challenge or appeal.
   • Applicants are not permitted to contact the jury members directly.

5. Intellectual Property and Publishing Rights

   • The award reserves the right to publish the winning works electronically and on paper.
   • The winner may not publish the winning work except after obtaining written approval from the administration The prize.
   • The award-winning research is the property of the award and may not be disposed of except with written approval from the administration The prize.
   • The possibility of printing the winning research in an independent book is subject to the decision of the award administration, and it may be approved The title of a series is such as “Research Series on Islamic Economics.”

6. Prizes and Honors

   • Cash prizes are awarded to winners according to the categories and rankings specified in the award announcement.
   • In the case of joint works, the prize money is distributed equally among the participants unless they agree in writing to a different distribution.
   • Prize money will be paid in Qatari Riyals or the equivalent in other currencies based on the official exchange rate.
   • The winner is responsible for any taxes or fees arising from the prize in accordance with the laws of their country.
   • Official certificates of appreciation, signed by the organizers, are presented to all winners.
   • Winners receive special commemorative award plaques.
   • The names of the winners will be announced through the award's media channels and official platforms.

7. Awards Ceremony and Announcement of Results

   • The winners are announced at an official award ceremony held annually in Doha, Qatar.
   • Winners will be notified in advance via email and phone prior to public announcement.
   • Winners must attend in person to receive the prize, or send an officially authorized representative with written authorization.
   • The award covers travel and accommodation costs for the first-place winner in each category (economy class flight ticket + hotel accommodation for 3 nights).
   • If neither the winner nor their representative is present, the award administration reserves the right to send the certificate and prize money by mail.
   • The ceremony will be filmed and broadcast across media and digital platforms.

8. Grounds for Disqualification and Cancellation

   • Failure to meet the conditions and criteria specified for the award.
   • Providing incorrect or misleading information in the candidacy application.
   • Detection of any case of plagiarism or violation of intellectual property rights.
   • Failure to adhere to the scientific method or the presence of serious methodological errors.
   • Violation of the provisions of Islamic Sharia or moral values.
   • Submission of work after the specified deadline.
   • In cases of disqualification or cancellation, the applicant is not entitled to claim any compensation.
   • The award reserves the right to revoke the prize from the winner, even after the announcement, if a fundamental violation is discovered.

9. Confidentiality and Data Protection

   • The award is committed to protecting applicants' personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
   • The data will only be used for the purposes of the award and to communicate with applicants and winners.
   • Personal data will not be shared with third parties without the express consent of the data subject.
   • The applicant has the right to request deletion of his personal data after the arbitration process ends.
   • The submitted works are kept in the award archive for research and documentation purposes.
   • All submissions will be treated confidentially during the arbitration period.

10. Legal Liability

    • The applicant bears full responsibility for the validity and accuracy of all information and data provided.
    • The applicant bears full legal responsibility for any violation of intellectual property rights.
    • The award is exempt from any legal liability to third parties in relation to the submitted works.
    • The award does not bear responsibility for any direct or indirect damages that may result from participation.
    • The applicant declares that they possess all necessary rights to submit the work for the award.

11. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

    • The award administration reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
    • Any amendments will be published on the award’s official website.
    • Registered applicants will be notified of any material modifications via email.
    • Continued participation after the amendments are published constitutes implicit acceptance of the new terms.
    • If the applicant does not accept the amendments, they have the right to withdraw their application before the end of the application period.

12. Applicable Law

    • These terms and conditions are subject to the laws of the State of Qatar.
    • Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved amicably first.
    • If an amicable solution is not reached, the Qatari courts are competent to consider the dispute.
    • The language of arbitration and official correspondence is Arabic.
